What Humanitarian Intelligence Hub is
A humanitarian intelligence hub is a single operational map combining hazard alerts, disaster data and needs information so a response team sees risk and requirement together. In ImpactMatrix it is a geospatial workspace with an Alert Intelligence Overview and three toggleable layers — Alerts, Disaster Data, Needs Assessment — filtered by source, time range and geography, with country preview that does not require editing your organization profile.

Questions
What is a Humanitarian Intelligence Hub?
It is a unified operational view for monitoring emerging risk, spatial impact and response intelligence in real time. In ImpactMatrix the hub is a geospatial workspace with an Alert Intelligence Overview and layers for Alerts, Disaster Data and Needs Assessment, filtered by source, time range and geography.
Where does the data come from?
Sources include National Weather Service weather alerts, and the public site also draws on USGS, MeteoAlarm, EMSC and GDACS. ImpactMatrix consumes these public feeds for situational awareness and is not an alerting authority — official warnings always come from the issuing agency.
How is this different from emergency operations software?
Emergency operations platforms run incident boards for agencies with an EOC and a procurement cycle. The hub puts public alert feeds next to live needs for organizations that will never buy enterprise EOC software, and it opens on a free trial rather than an RFP.
Can I view another country?
Yes. Country preview lets you review another country's picture without editing your organization profile, which matters for organizations serving diaspora communities or supporting partners abroad while their own operations remain domestic.
