What Find Supplies does
Find Supplies is the sourcing module inside ImpactMatrix. It has three tabs — Manual Search across verified retailers, AI Intelligence for disaster-specific recommendations, and Platform Supplies from the network — and a row of hazard chips for Hurricane, Tornado, Flood, Wildfires, Winter Storms, Earthquake and Drought. Selecting a hazard returns the priority supplies for that event type near your location.
What you can do
The work a supply lead does in the first six hours, compressed.
Select Flood and the priority list orders itself around what floods actually consume: muck-out and cleanup supplies, heavy trash bags, work gloves, N95 masks, dehumidifiers and fans, tarps. Winter Storms reorders it around heat, blankets and generators.
Search verified retailers directly when you know the SKU and just need it close to the distribution site. Sourcing near the site is how you avoid paying to freight water across three states.
Ask for hazard-specific recommendations when you're standing up a response in a county you don't normally serve and don't yet know what the first week will burn through.
Check the network before you buy. Something on your list may already be posted as an Offer or a Gifts in Kind listing, which changes the line item from purchase to claim.
Sourcing a response
Choose the hazard
The chip you select drives the priority list. Flood and Wildfires produce genuinely different first-week manifests.
Check the network first
Platform Supplies and open Offers may cover part of the list at no cost. Claim those before you spend restricted funds.
Buy what's left, near the site
Manual Search across verified retailers for the remainder, then post whatever you still can't source as a Need so the network can answer it.
Why hazard-first sourcing matters
The problem
The public supply lists that dominate search are written for households — a family preparedness kit, not a distribution operation. When your team is standing up a POD, you need case quantities, a supplier who can deliver to the site, and a way to tell what's already moving toward you.
What the platform does
Find Supplies starts from the hazard and your location, then splits the answer three ways: buy it from a verified retailer, claim it from the network, or post it as a Need for someone else to fill.
The artifact
A sourced manifest with a paper trail: what was bought, what was claimed as in-kind, and what's still open — the difference between a grant report and a guess.
How this differs from a preparedness checklist
Household checklists tell one family what to keep in a closet. Retailer blogs sell you a pallet. Neither knows what your county already has moving, or what a shelter three exits away just posted as surplus. Find Supplies is sourcing for an operation: hazard-specific, location-aware, and wired to the same network where in-kind donations and offers live.
Use ImpactMatrix when
You're sourcing at case and pallet quantity for distribution, and you want to check donated supply before spending cash.
Use something else when
You're a household building a personal emergency kit — the public preparedness lists are genuinely better for that, and they're free.

Questions
How do nonprofits find disaster supplies quickly?
In ImpactMatrix, open Find Supplies and select a hazard chip such as Hurricane, Flood or Wildfires. The module returns priority supplies for that event type near your location, and you can search verified retailers manually, ask AI Intelligence for recommendations, or pull from Platform Supplies already on the network.
Which hazards does Find Supplies cover?
Find Supplies includes chips for Hurricane, Tornado, Flood, Wildfires, Winter Storms, Earthquake and Drought. Each hazard produces a different priority supply set, because the first week of a flood response consumes very different material from the first week of a winter storm response.
Are the supplies free?
Find Supplies searches verified retailers, so those items are purchases. Donated goods are a separate path: Gifts in Kind listings are surplus that companies are giving away, and open Offers on the network may cover part of your list at no cost. Check both before you buy.
What does the AI Intelligence tab actually do?
AI Intelligence returns disaster-specific supply recommendations for the hazard you selected. It is most useful when your team is responding in an unfamiliar area or to an event type you don't normally work. Your supply lead still decides what to order and at what quantity.
Do I need a paid plan to use Find Supplies?
Find Supplies is available during the 30-day free trial, which requires no credit card. After the trial, it's part of the nonprofit subscription — $29.99 per month for a single user, with lower per-user pricing on Growth, Community and Enterprise plans.
