What the dashboard is
The nonprofit dashboard is the screen you land on after login. It carries Quick Actions (Create Need, Create Offer, Create Story, Create Event), counters for Needs Created and Offers Received, Browse Needs and Browse Offers into the live network, and a My Activity section covering Needs, Offers, Stories, Events and Refer & Earn. On a fresh account the empty state asks you to create your first need.
What you can do
Everything below is a button on the screen, not a roadmap item.
Post an ask with category, quantity and location. That's what the match engine reads, so "250 cots, Ascension Parish, need by Friday" outperforms "shelter supplies."
Post spare capacity before anyone asks — trailer space, a box truck on Tuesdays, pallet positions in cold storage, an intake team that speaks Haitian Creole.
Read the live network without posting anything. Useful on your first afternoon: search your state and see who else is working the same event.
Document an outcome while the detail is fresh. Stories are how partners and donors see that goods landed, which is what makes the next offer come faster.
Stand up a room around a specific response or drive, so the coordination lives next to the needs instead of in a separate thread.
Needs, Offers, Stories, Events and Refer & Earn in one list — the Monday-morning check that used to take four tabs and a phone call.
Your first fifteen minutes
Post one real need
Not a test. Use the ask you were about to send to a group text, with the quantity and county you actually need.
Browse the other side
Open Browse Offers and search your state. Seeing what's already available usually rewrites the second need you post.
Check Offers Received tomorrow
Posted Needs are auto-matched, so responses accumulate while you're doing distribution. My Activity is where you pick them up.
Why the home screen matters more than it sounds
The problem
Most nonprofit coordination lives in three places at once: a spreadsheet nobody has open, a text thread with a warehouse manager, and one person's inbox. When that person is at a POD site, the organization goes blind.
What the platform does
The dashboard makes asks and capacity institutional rather than personal. Anything posted through Quick Actions is visible to your team, matched automatically, and tracked in My Activity — whoever is on shift.
What leadership sees
Needs Created and Offers Received are two numbers your executive director can read in ten seconds and take to a board meeting, with the underlying records attached.
How this differs from a shared spreadsheet
A spreadsheet holds your asks. It does not go looking for answers. Everything you post from the dashboard enters a live network of nonprofits, foundations, agencies, suppliers, businesses and campuses, gets scored against real offers, and carries forward into shipment and delivery records without being retyped.
Use ImpactMatrix when
You want asks and offers in one system that keeps working when the person who posted them is in the field.
Use something else when
You only need an internal task list for your own staff. A project tool will do that more cheaply.
Inside the product

Where this sits in the chain
Every posted need travels the same path. Follow it forward or back.
Questions
What is on the ImpactMatrix nonprofit dashboard?
The dashboard shows a welcome header with system status, Quick Actions for Create Need, Create Offer, Create Story and Create Event, counters for Needs Created and Offers Received, Browse Needs and Browse Offers, and a My Activity section covering Needs, Offers, Stories, Events and Refer & Earn.
How do I post a need?
Select Create Need from Quick Actions on the dashboard. You enter the category, quantity and location of what you need. Once posted, the Need is auto-matched against live Offers and appears in your My Activity list, where responses collect as they arrive.
Can more than one person on my team use the dashboard?
Yes. Team members you invite share your plan's seat allotment, and those seats also cover ImpactVolunteer. Anything posted from Quick Actions belongs to the organization rather than the individual, so coverage does not break when one coordinator is deployed.
Do I need training to use it?
No formal training is required to post a Need or an Offer — the dashboard is the onboarding, and the empty state tells you to create your first need. The User Guide covers the rest of the modules if your team wants a walkthrough before a drill.
Is the dashboard included in the free trial?
Yes. The 30-day free trial requires no credit card and opens on the full dashboard. You can post needs and offers, browse the live network and invite team members during the trial, then pick your plan from inside the dashboard when you're ready.
