ImpactMatrix
For foundations and associations · Shipment

“Distributed” becomes a sentence with evidence under it.

Confirm that funded goods actually moved.

Shipment turns an accepted match or claim into a tracked movement with chain of custody from origin to recipient. For a foundation it is the evidence layer under a grantee's statement that goods were distributed.

What Shipment is

Shipment is the movement record in ImpactMatrix. An organization creates a shipment from a matched Offer or a completed Gifts in Kind claim, then tracks it from origin to recipient with chain of custody maintained along the way. The shipment feeds Deliveries, where the recipient confirms arrival and a receipt is generated.

What you can do

Real button and tab names — the module is the same for everyone; what you do with it is not.

Create a shipment

Start from the accepted match or claim, not a blank form.

Chain of custody

Record who released, carried and received the goods.

Track to recipient

Status travels with the shipment, so nobody calls to ask if the truck left.

Hand to Deliveries

Confirmation at the far end closes the record and produces the receipt.

Why this matters for your organization type

The problem

Grant reports say goods were distributed. Nothing underneath that sentence is verifiable.

What the platform does

An organization creates a shipment from a matched Offer or a completed Gifts in Kind claim, then tracks it from origin to recipient with chain of custody maintained along the way. The shipment feeds Deliveries, where the recipient confirms arrival and a receipt is generated.

What you walk away with

A custody record from origin to recipient behind every reported distribution.

Coordination logistics, not a warehouse system

Freight and warehouse platforms suit organizations with their own docks, barcodes and carrier contracts. Most in-kind movement is not that. Shipment records what left, who held it and that the recipient confirmed — between organizations, not inside a building.

Use ImpactMatrix when

You fund or convene organizations and want visibility into what they need plus evidence of what moved.

Use something else when

You need application intake, review scoring or payment scheduling — that stays in your grants system.

Questions

Do funders see shipment records?

Records belong to the organizations on either end of the movement. What a funder can reasonably ask for is reporting drawn from them, which is considerably stronger than a narrative paragraph.

Does this add reporting burden for grantees?

It should reduce it. The shipment is created from the accepted match rather than typed in, and the delivery confirmation that closes it also generates the documentation.

What does this cost a foundation?

Foundation plans use the same seat structure as nonprofit plans: $29.99 per month for a single user, then $24.99, $19.99 or $14.99 per user on Growth, Community and Enterprise. Thirty-day free trial, no credit card, ImpactVolunteer included.

What is chain of custody for donated goods?

Chain of custody is the record of everyone who handled a donation between donor and recipient. In ImpactMatrix, a shipment created from a matched Offer or claimed Gifts in Kind listing carries that record from origin to recipient and ends with a confirmed delivery.
