What official sources confirm The earthquake occurred at 07:34 COT (12:34 UTC) on 10 August 2026. The Colombian Geological Survey (SGC) and the USGS report Mw 7.4; the Global CMT catalogue assigns Mw 7.5. Depth is intermediate: about 96 km (SGC) to 110 km (USGS). Epicentre: near San José del Palmar, Chocó. DIMAR stated there was no tsunami threat on the Pacific coast. SGC described it as the strongest shaking felt in Colombia in at least a decade. Aftershocks followed.
